Read full description of the books:
I... don't like medical romances. And this is my second in a row.
In this book, Michael is an ex-military doctor that stepped on a landmine and lost a leg. He felt like he deserved it, because he wasn't with the group that was ahead of him (that all died). He's now holed up on a cruise ship as the primary physician, kind of 'floating' thru life. He's jaded and closed off.
Sarah is on hiatus from her life. She's a doctor who doesn't think she should be a doctor anymore, because twice she has failed the men she loved, by not being able to read the signs and seeing that there was something wrong (the first one was her husband, and he died of melanoma). She blames herself for not being a good enough doctor, so she's stopped. She's traveling; wandering, really, and finds herself on the cruise ship. Where she bumps into and sparks off Michael, who is attracted to her, but can't figure out what her problem is.
Toss in a boat-wide pandemic, a gaggle of purple-hat ladies (who happen to all be ex-nurses and lab techs... what are the chances of THAT?), and a bunch of caterwauling on the part of the two VERY moody, whiny main characters, who both keep walking out on each other thru the WHOLE BOOK... and you get a fair but not great read.

In addition to her writing, Dianne teaches a dozen writing workshops every year and also teaches a writing and publishing course at a state university.
Dianne's formal educational background is in classical music and nursing, with college degrees in both. She was a former symphonic bass player in her first career go-round, then a critical care nurse/anesthetist in her second. Dianne's hobby and passion is antiques; she collects antique European oil lamps, vintage American kitchen utensils, and brooches from everywhere, circa 1600 – 1900. Her book, Everyday Antiques (Storey), was a Doubleday Book Club Antiques Roadshow alternate feature. Besides her passion for antiques, Dianne has a passion for animals — all six of hers are rescued from animal shelters.
Dianne is married to Joel, and their daughter Jennifer is a college student. In 2000, Dianne was the recipient of the Daphne du Maurier Award for Excellence in Mystery & Suspense.
