Sweeping across the different parts of the world Isabella and Ferdinand's reign altered history in lots of ways!
Isabella of Castile and Ferdinand of Aragon were thrown together in their lives by their fathers who wanted to build empires to stretch throughout the known world. These books tell about their life during their early marriage their love for each other, then their son Ferdinand, daughters Katherine of Aragon being the most famous, Isabella and Maria who married the king of Italy. Their court rivalled all and they married their children to gain an empire, financed Christopher Columbus and brought about the Spanish Inquisition which tortured people in the name of their faith Catholicism they not only killed Jews but many of their own people plus the people of the New World which they claimed for their own. The Pope and Cardinals voted that they had dominion in the New World something that the Portuguese thought was wrong and very unfair! The court of Isabella and Ferdinand was one of the greatest ever hosting poets, artists sculptures etc and financing their works..
5 stars for a broad spectrum of the life and times of Isabella and Ferdinand.

Read information about the authorEleanor Alice Burford, Mrs. George Percival Hibbert was a British author of about 200 historical novels, most of them under the pen name Jean Plaidy which had sold 14 million copies by the time of her death. She chose to use various names because of the differences in subject matter between her books; the best-known, apart from Plaidy, are Victoria Holt (56 million) and Philippa Carr (3 million). Lesser known were the novels Hibbert published under her maiden name Eleanor Burford, or the pseudonyms of Elbur Ford, Kathleen Kellow and Ellalice Tate. Many of her readers under one penname never suspected her other identities.
